Jessica Smith was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.
She went to New York City public schools until she
left for Brown University. After college, she lived
in San Francisco, California for six years, working
with children and youth in a variety of settings. She
returned to New York City in 2003 to obtain her
Master's degree in Childhood Education at Bank Street
College of Education. Fortunately for her, her
student teaching experiences on the Lower East Side
led her to a teaching opportunity at the Earth School.
Jessica is a voracious reader, avid crossword
puzzler, dog lover, and a devoted and loyal New
Yorker.
