The school does not celebrate traditional religious holidays in the spirit of embracing all cultures equally. We recognize the Equinoxes and Solstices, in learning about the earth's rhythm and patterns as part of our general earth science studies. We parade to Tompkins Square Park, sing songs and share stories and information about appreciating and maintaining our natural habitat.
Our founding ideals, that only recently have become a more global concern, are of environmental awareness and earth stewardship and are reflected in many community programs, from gardening to recycling.
