Earth to Parents Parent involvement is central to the Earth School’s success. Parents participate in the School Leadership Team (SLT) and Parents Association (PA), lead afterschool karate, yoga and chess clubs, volunteer in the classroom and on class trips, and maintain the school’s website. Our Parents Association organizes a lively calendar of events (Fall Fair, Spring Auction, Read-a-thon, Annual Fund Drive, and many other activities) to raise funds for enrichment programs and teacher support. Our full-time parent coordinator facilitates communication and helps families gain access to resources within and without the school. The Earth School is on Avenue B between Fourth and Sixth streets, near the southeast corner of Tompkins Square. Our building is also home to P.S. 64 and Tompkins Square Middle School. The three schools occupy separate floors of the building and share the library, cafeteria, auditorium and gymnasium.
