DID YOU READ YOUR CHILD'S NARRATIVE REPORT?

Amazing, isn't it, how well the teachers know our children? Please let the teachers know we appreciate the vast amount of time they put into getting to know our children by observing their strengths and challenges so diligently and accessing their work so accurately. Tell the teachers or write them, and definitely fill out the forms that went home with the narratives.

IS YOUR APARTMENT TOO SMALL FOR ALL THOSE BOOKS?

Suzanne's class has been studying different education experiences around the world, including how books get delivered to children in different places. As a way to contribute to our global community, the class decided to donate to children who may not have school or community libraries. We are collecting books for the Fort Belknap College Library in Montana. This library serves the entire community of Gros Ventre and the Assiniboine Tribes. Books should be in excellent condition - not written in, no pages missing, back and front cover attached, and no broken spines. Please leave them in Suzanne's 1/2 classroom. Thank you for your support!

PUT OUR MONEY WHERE OUR CHILDREN ARE

You have heard all the threats of budget cuts in education and massive teacher lay-offs. Now you can assist in averting such draconian measures. Please call your State Senator, both Republicans and Democrats immediately and tell him/her NOT to vote for the Governor’s proposed school property tax cap legislation.

Senate Bill 2706, Governor’s Program Bill #1

Call your Senator at: 1 877 255-9417 When prompted, press 2 from your touch tone phone to be connected to your Legislator’s office. Once connected, tell your Senator to REJECT this legislation.

This ill-conceived property tax cap would severely limit the amount of revenue available for school districts. It would jeopardize a sound education for every child. Thousands of children in less affluent areas would be relegated to unequal access and unequal opportunity. Some of the outcomes include increased class size, loss of Early Childhood programs, elimination of music, art, guidance services along with physical education and athletics.

Please make the call immediately!

GRANT WRITER WANTED

There's only a week left, but if you're interested in writing a grant that could earn $10,000 for our school, please contact Abbe Futterman. The Green Prize in Public Education is due on February 15. To see the grant application, go to this link.
