Not Just Another Walk in the Park

On Sunday, November 21st, the Earth School will be participating in the 16th Annual Race to Deliver, an event to support God's Love We Deliver. God's Love We Deliver is an organization that delivers nutritious, individually-tailored meals to people who are too sick to shop or cook for themselves. Participating in this event is not only a great way to teach children about personal fitness but also a great way to help in our community.

The race is a 4 mile run/walk in Central Park, followed by multiple-distance Kid's Fun Runs. It begins near Bethesda Fountain in Central Park at 8:30 a.m. The Kid's Fun Run will follow at 10:00 a.m. Please visit www.racetodeliver.org to sign up to participate and don't forget to join the Earth School team! Everyone will leave with a Race to Deliver race shirt and a smile after a great morning in the park! If you are not able to participate, you can still sponsor our team and help us reach our fundraising goal of $500! Friends and family are welcome to join and sponsor our team as well. Questions? Our Resident Artist Needs Help

Patrice Lorenz, our very own art teacher, is looking for someone to place our children's work on Patrice's space on the Earth School website. If you can help, contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Also....this just in from Patrice:

Here's an exciting new opportunity to participate in recycling materials commonly found in your homes! Outside the Parent Association/Jocelyn's room there is a new Materials Center set up for Students, Teachers and Parents hosting COW clubs. The Materials Center has bins of paper towel or bathroom tissue tubes, buttons and beads, egg cartons, rubber bands -- all kinds of raw materials to inspire the imagination!

Some of the materials are already being depleted, such as the cardboard tubes and egg cartons. Others, such as brown paper bags and small cardboard boxes are in short supply. Using recycled materials also help us save money.

You can stop by the Material Center and put items in the bins on your own, send them in with your children, or drop them by the art room and I will sort and distribute.

The Materials Center supports the Open Work and Core Curriculum projects in each and every classroom in the school so keep those recyclables coming!

Thank You,
Patrice Lorenz
